AI interview copilot · Windows & macOS

Invisible on screen share,
so your notes stay private.

InterviewOS transcribes each interview question and suggests an answer from your own CV. Its windows are left out of screen capture and screen sharing, so your CV, notes and account details stay on your monitor and out of the shared stream. Use live assistance only where the interview rules allow it.

60 free credits for eligible new accounts: up to 60 minutes of live interview. No credit card required. 1 credit = 1 minute.

During the interview

What it does while you talk.

A desktop app that runs beside your call and turns each question into a short answer you can say in your own words.

01

Listens to the interviewer

Choose Computer audio and the app captures what your speakers or headset play: the interviewer's voice from Zoom, Teams, Google Meet or any other call. Your own microphone is not part of that stream, and no bot joins the meeting.

02

Transcribes each question

Speech is transcribed as the interviewer talks, and each question goes into an ordered queue, so a quick follow-up is not lost while the previous answer is still on screen.

03

Answers from your own CV

Suggestions are built from the CV, stories and job description you added. The app does not invent experience: a topic your materials do not cover is labelled on the card, not presented as fact.

04

Deep mode for harder questions

When a question needs more than a short answer, ask for more detail and a stronger model expands it. Deep mode is off by default, uses more credits and is available on plans that include it.

05

Coding and system design

Scan a coding problem to practise with a worked, explained solution, or follow a system-design question with a diagram and an outline you can talk through in your own words. In a live coding round, use it only if the rules allow AI help.

06

Take-home review

If the interview is about a take-home you built, import the assignment and your solution. Answers about the submission are checked against your actual code and cite the files they use.

How screen-share privacy works

Visible to you. Left out of the share.

The operating system leaves the windows out of what it hands to screen-sharing and recording apps. Here is what that covers, per platform, and what it does not.

Windows 10 (2004+) and 11

  • Both app windows ask Windows to exclude them from capture (WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE). You still see them on your monitor; a screen share or recording shows whatever is behind them.
  • This applies to full-desktop sharing too, not only window sharing: Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, OBS, PrintScreen and the Snipping Tool all omit the windows.
  • The windows are kept off the taskbar, out of Alt-Tab and out of the "share a window" picker, so they are not offered as something to share.
  • Requires Windows 10 version 2004 (build 19041) or Windows 11. On older builds Windows refuses the request and the window stays capturable.

macOS

  • App windows are marked NSWindowSharingNone, the macOS setting that asks the system to leave a window out of screen capture and screen sharing.
  • The floating assistant can stay on top of an app running in full screen, and it is left out of capture the same way as the main window.
  • macOS has no per-window way to hide from the Dock or the app switcher, so the InterviewOS Dock icon stays visible.
  • How a meeting app captures the screen is up to that app and macOS version, so run a test share before your interview.
Limits

What it cannot hide.

Plain facts, so you know exactly what the privacy setting does.

  • Capture exclusion only affects software capture. It cannot hide your screen from a phone or camera pointed at it, or from an HDMI capture card on the monitor cable.
  • "Show app while screen sharing" in Settings is Off by default. Turn it On only when you want to show the app, for example in a demo: the main app and the floating assistant then appear in shares, recordings and screenshots.
  • Always check with a test share in the meeting app you will use: start sharing, look at what the other side receives, then stop.
Setup

Does it stay hidden when I share my entire screen?

On Windows 10 version 2004 or later and Windows 11, yes. The windows are excluded from capture by Windows itself, so they are left out of full-desktop shares in Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and OBS as well as window shares, screenshots and recordings. Viewers see whatever is behind the window. Keep "Show app while screen sharing" Off (the default); turning it On makes the main app and the floating assistant visible to viewers.

Does screen-share privacy work on macOS?

The macOS app marks its windows with NSWindowSharingNone, which asks macOS to leave them out of screen capture and screen sharing. Whether a given meeting app respects it depends on how that app captures the screen, so do a test share before the interview. The Dock icon stays visible on macOS because there is no per-window way to hide it.

Does it work with Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom?

Yes. InterviewOS runs as a separate desktop app next to your meeting, not inside it. It listens to your computer's audio output, so it works with any call that plays the interviewer through your speakers or headset, including Google Meet in a browser. Nothing joins the meeting, and no meeting plugin is required.

Can anything still see the app?

Capture exclusion stops software capture: screen sharing, recording and screenshots. It cannot hide the screen from a phone or camera pointed at the monitor, or from an HDMI capture card on the display output. On Windows builds older than 10 version 2004 the window cannot be excluded and stays capturable.

Does it hear my own voice?

With the Computer audio source it captures your computer's output, which carries the interviewer, not your microphone. A Microphone source exists for solo practice, where you ask the questions yourself.

Will it make up experience I do not have?

No. Answers are grounded in the CV, stories and job description you add. When a question goes beyond them, the card says so instead of inventing a background for you. AI can still make mistakes, so put suggestions into your own words and check the details.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Eligible new accounts receive 60 free credits on signup, and no credit card is required. 1 credit = 1 minute, so that is up to 60 minutes of live interview. When you need more, choose a paid plan on the pricing page.

Can I use live assistance in any interview?

Use it only where the interview or assessment rules allow AI assistance, and get any consent required for transcribing the call. The privacy features exist to keep your CV, notes and settings off a shared screen, and our Acceptable Use Policy applies to every session.
